We service Barudan commercial embroidery machines.Jackson Magazine 2013 Jackson Living / January: The Gator Clamp may just be the answer to your tricky hooping needs! also sells refurbished embroidery equipment, hoops, hard to find mechanical and electronic parts as well as the Gator Clamp. Under the critically watchful eye of Scott, S.E.T.S. Along with their junior technician, Jonathan, they are minimizing the service wait times and getting customers back up and running. John has become Lead Technician on machine installs, training, repairs, and the latest Barudan networking software. While Scott is still going out and performing service calls, he has started to slow down as he prepares to retire in the next few years. They also make themselves aware of the latest trends, common machine issues and continuing education to keep S.E.T.S. With their finger always on the pulse of the embroidery industry, Scott and John strive to add products and services to meet a large number of customer's needs. In 2020, John found Jonathan Barrett and brought him onto the technician staff and continues to train Jonathan on all aspects of Embroidery Machines operation, repair/service, and training.
Knowing that the current generation of technicians were slowing down and/or retiring, Scott and John searched for more technicians to train to help in the growing need. S.E.T.S quickly grew in coverage of not only just Georgia but also Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, and recently Kentucky. covered the state of Georgia and occasionally the bordering areas of Georgia, however as time moved forward, the Embroidery Industry grew larger and more new customers were in need of certified technicians. In 2014 he found John Coon who then began learning directly from Scott. Scott soon recognized that the factory trained, "old timer" technicians were dwindling and began searching for an apprentice to personally train.
With exposure to the industry since 1988, there are very few machine situation he hasn't seen. Having cut his teeth as a service technician for Barudan, owning a 39 head, 14 employee embroidery/digitizing shop and doing service and sales for Hirsch Intl., Scott put his knowledge to work and S.E.T.S. Scott Marshall saw the need for a independent certified technical service as the "big guys" began cutting their service staffs and continually raised pricing for commercial embroidery machine repair.
Southern Exposure Technical Services (S.E.T.S.) began in 1999.
